Welcome to DSA’s PTSA!

The DSA PTSA welcomes you to collaborate with us as we share our efforts to advocate, connect and build a great family community. We are committed to building family / school partnerships for student success!

Our Mission

To foster partnership and collaboration between our parents, teachers, students, faculty and administration to bring unity, awareness, advocacy, equity and inclusion to our talented student body while building a great DSA community.

How can we build family / school partnerships?

Welcoming all families into the school community – Our families are valued participants in the life of the school. They should feel welcome and connected to each other, to DSA Staff, and to what students are learning and doing in the arts and academic classrooms.

Communicating effectively – Families and DSA staff engage in regular, two-way and meaningful communication about student learning.

Supporting student success – Families and DSA staff collaborate to support student education and healthy development—both at home and at school—and have regular opportunities to strengthen their knowledge and skills to do so effectively.

Speaking up for every child – Families are empowered to be advocates for all children to ensure that students are treated fairly and have access to academic and performance opportunities that will support their success.

Partnering on influence – Create an equal partnership with families and DSA staff to determine and implement decisions that affect children and families. Inform, influence and create policies, practices and programs.

Collaborating within our community – Families and DSA staff collaborate with community members to connect students, families and staff to expanded learning opportunities, community service, performances and civic participation.
